Jesus understands Grief and sorrow

Isa 53:3  He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Isa 53:4  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
sorrows: מכאבה    מכאוב    מכאב mak'ôb  mak'ôb  mak'ôbâh; mak-obe', mak-obe', mak-o-baw'
From H3510; anguish or (figuratively) affliction: - grief, pain, sorrow.

Whatever we are going through Jesus is touch with our feelings of loss, disease and grief. He experience this at Calvary. What pain when the LORD laid on Him the Iniquity of us all. Afflicted by His Heavenly Father, smittten of God.
Spiritual mourning B.I.
I. What we are to understand by the mourning mentioned.
1. It is not the mourning of a melancholy disposition.
2. It is not sorrow over temporal distress.
3. It is not sorrow in adversity.
4. It is not sorrow because of disappointed hopes. It arises purely from Faith.
II. What are the causes of this mourning?
1. Sin is one
(1) Because it dishonours God;
(2) Because it cleaves to himself.
(3) The prevalence of sin causes him to mourn
(4) because of the punishment it shall receive.
2Co_7:10  For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

for they shall be comforted.
